About Honeynut Winter Squash Seeds
Cucurbita moschata
4"–5" fruits start out green with orange mottling, ripening to a pale terracotta. As a combination of butternut and buttercup types, 'Honeynut' is very sweet with very smooth-textured flesh.

| Growing & Harvesting | Harvest when the squash's rind is hard enough that you can't dent it with your fingernail and before first frost. Cut stem, (don't break it off) leaving 2" of stem attached, which keeps the squash whole, leaving no opening for infection. Though fruits are hard and may seem indestructible, treat them gently; bruising can spoil squash. |

I don’t often have great luck with squash but this variety is taking over! I’m so excited to try it in the kitchen. Not only that but my little girl spilled all the seeds all over and I only had 1 left and it came up and fought through all our terrible weather this year! Will be ordering again!

I have so these seeds two seeds each per hill three times now about a week and a half apart each, and not a single seed in this packet has germinated :(

I planted all 12(my pack came with 12 seeds) of my Honeynut squash seeds. Not a single one germinated. I sewed many other seeds that day, other squash included, even some from Botanical Interests. I had no other germination issues with any of my seeds except the Honeynut. The worst part is, I was the most excited about this variety of squash.

Really enjoyed this plant… the seeds germinated well and the vines were productive. But the best part was the flavor, hence why I have repurchased this seed. I find butternut squash to be a little bland, and pumpkin a little wet, this was perfect! Just the right level of sweetness, and smaller so you don’t have to eat it every night for the week like its larger counterparts.
